FC Bayern München have won the European Champion Clubs' Cup for the fourth time after defeating Valencia CF 5-4 on penalties after the sides had drawn 1-1 in the 2000/01 UEFA Champions League final at the Giuseppe Meazza stadium in Milan. Goalkeeper Oliver Kahn was the Bayern hero, saving three penalties in the shootout. Valencia lost in the final for the second straight year despite having taken an early lead.
